This Privacy Policy explains how Blue Figs, LLC ("Blue Figs," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Reviews MD (reviews-md.com, the "Site"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit or interact with the Site.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
If you contact us (for example, by emailing support@reviews-md.com) or otherwise submit information to us, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our analytics and advertising partners may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Device and browser type, operating system, and language settings;
- IP address and approximate (city/region-level) location;
- Pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, referring/exit pages, and time spent on the Site;
- Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
Affiliate click data
When you click a link or button that takes you to one of the third-party providers we compare, that click may be recorded (often with a unique identifier passed in the URL) so the provider can attribute the referral to us. We do not receive your account details, health information, or purchase contents from these providers.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content;
- Understand how visitors use the Site and measure the performance of our comparisons and referrals;
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information as follows:
- Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as web hosting, analytics, and email handling.
- Advertising and affiliate partners: when you click through to a partner, that partner may receive referral and device data as described above. Partners handle your information under their own privacy policies.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blue Figs, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Some sharing of device or cookie data with advertising partners may be considered "selling" or "sharing" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. See Section 7 for your choices.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through cookie or consent controls on the Site. Disabling cookies may affect how some features work. You can also opt out of certain analytics and interest-based advertising through tools such as the DAA opt-out page and your device's advertising settings.
5. Data Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, and all information transmitted through the Site is encrypted in transit using Secure Socket Layer (SSL)/TLS technology (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Protected Health Information (PHI)
Reviews MD is an independent publisher of comparison and educational content. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, pharmacy, or healthcare clearinghouse, and we are not a HIPAA "covered entity" or "business associate." The Site is designed so that visitors are not required or asked to submit protected health information (PHI) to browse comparisons, read guides, or use our tools.
How our tools handle your answers
Our on-site match assistant asks general, non-medical questions (such as your general weight-loss goal, care priorities, and preferred medication form) to help you review educational content. These answers are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If you send us health information anyway
Although we ask visitors not to include medical or health information in messages to us, we recognize that a message may inadvertently contain it (for example, in an email to support@reviews-md.com). If that happens, we:
- Limit access to that information to the personnel who need it to respond to your inquiry;
- Do not use it for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes;
- Do not sell, share, or disclose it to advertising, analytics, or affiliate partners;
- Retain it only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and comply with legal obligations, and then securely delete it.
Information you provide to third-party providers
If you click through to a telehealth provider, pharmacy, or other partner featured on the Site and choose to share health information with them (for example, during an intake questionnaire or consultation), that information is collected and handled by that provider under its own privacy policy and any applicable HIPAA or other legal obligations that apply to it directly. We do not receive or store the substance of that information.
Security incidents
If we become aware of a security incident involving health information in our possession, we will investigate and, where required by applicable breach-notification laws, notify affected individuals and any relevant regulators without unreasonable delay.
Jurisdiction-specific privacy and health-information laws
Where applicable laws of a jurisdiction we serve impose additional requirements on the handling of protected health information or other protected personal information (including, where applicable, HIPAA for U.S. visitors), we intend to comply with those requirements to the extent they apply to our operations as described above.
7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to opt out of certain processing.
U.S. state privacy rights (including California)
If you are a resident of California or another state with applicable privacy laws, you may have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal information and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, or to make a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request, email us at support@reviews-md.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA/UK visitors
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing include your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site, and compliance with legal obligations. You may have the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Third-Party Sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including the telehealth and pharmacy providers we compare. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
